The smart city project has sufficient funds but due to various technical reasons, including the delay in the land transfer of the Defense Department, some of the work is not being carried out. The Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi has instructed the officials to immediately resolve all technical issues including land acquisition and land transfer.
He was speaking at a meeting held on Monday (July 27) at the DC office in connection with smart city works under the chairmanship of the district in-charge minister.
He said that if some private property is part of any works the value must be assessed and resettlement or relocation plan must be made as per law.
With the rapid growth of the city, the focus must be on the next thirty years and should be on providing infrastructural facilities Minister Angadi said.
Instructions to speed up work:
Ramesh Jarakiholi, the minister in charge of the district, said the steps are needed to expedite smart city works.
Meanwhile, MLIRC Brigadier Chowdhury said the proposal to hand over the land of the bus station had been sent to the Defense Department and that approval has to be obtained.
MLA Abhay Patil said that the Savagon road must be made convenient for the public.
Deputy Commissioner MG Hiremath told the Public Works Department officials to submit a comprehensive report on the rehabilitation and relocation of private property in the area.
There was a discussion on the Land transfer near the bus station; Raichur-Bachi Road (SH20) Road from Gandhinagar to Ashoka Circle and the construction of Smart City Road from Sanchayni Circle to Fish Market.
