Stone pelting on Govt Vehicle at Halga is false- glass broke after a freak accident

On December 15th, 2022, Chetan N., the driver of the Agricultural Rural Development Bank in Bangalore Chamarajpet, filed a complaint alleging that on the evening of December 14th, while travelling from Bangalore to Belagavi in the Bank’s Bolero Vehicle No. KA-02/MM 5173, someone had stopped his vehicle, broken the front glass, and spoken to him in Marathi.

In response to the complaint, an investigation was launched.

The investigation revealed that the complainant had left Bangalore at 07.45 in the morning and had stopped for a meal at a Sarai in Tadasa village in Shigggaon taluk at 04.30 in the evening.

CCTV footage from Hirebagewadi Toll Naka showed that the glass had been broken due to a collision with a truck loaded with steel bars. As such, it was determined that no persons had broken the glass of the vehicle as stated by the complainant.

The Commissioner of police Belagavi City hereby requests that the public should not listen to any false news and that appropriate action will be taken against the motorist for making a false complaint.
