Protesting Sugarcane farmer committed suicide in front of Assembly building in Belgaum, where Assembly winter session is in progress. Farmer identified as Vittal Arabhavi of Kankanwadi village shifted to nearby Bhartesh Homoeopathy Hospital where he died during treatment.
The farmer was facing acute financial crisis after a sugar factory failed to pay him money for supply of 120 tonnes of cane he supplied last year.
