Sources have confirmed that the Kapileshwar Railway over bridge will be inaugurated by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on December 25 at 11.30 AM via Video link from Thiruvananthapuram.
This is the second RoB in Belagavi the first one being built by the British about 110 years ago at Gogte Circle to Maratha Mandir.
Three more RoBs on Old Pune-Bengaluru Road, III Railway Gate and near Desur on Belagavi-Khanapur Road have been also cleared by the Railway Minister. The work on RoB on old Pune-Bengaluru Road will be taken up soon after commissioning of the RoB on Kapileshwar Road sources have informed.
Work on the 500-m-long and 25-feet wide RoB, with clear ground clearance up to 6.50 metres, was taken up in June 2015 and due to lack of coordination the project got delayed and cost escalated to Rs.21 crores from 19.5 crores.
