After a private house was converted into the Fathima Masjid Sarthi Nagar Belagavi and handed over to the WAQF Board in Belagavi, which has now sealed the mosque after the notice from the City Corporation Belagavi.

The corporation had issued a notice regarding the building license violation and carrying out religious activities on the property meant for residence.

The authorities cite that the nature of the structure was changed without notifying the agency.

Last week, the former BJP MLA and several Hindu groups raised objections to the conversion, claiming that it was illegal and not acceptable

The Hindu groups have demanded that the district administration and corporation should vacate the mosque.
