Belagavi City Corporation is set to implement a special campaign urging traders to secure or renew their municipal Trade licenses. The initiative was finalized during the Health Standing Committee meeting held on Thursday, chaired by Shrishail Kamble.
Special License Distribution Rooms: Five dedicated centers will be established to streamline the issuance of Trade licenses.
- Revenue Goals: The health department had a target to collect ₹2 crore in Trade license fees but has only managed to recover ₹1.15 crore so far.
- Renewal Status: Of the 13,000 business licenses issued in the city, only 3,000 have been renewed, highlighting a lack of compliance among traders.
Health officials and inspectors were questioned during the meeting regarding the slow progress and lack of trader response, even after notices were issued.

The City Corporation plans to hold discussions with the Belagavi Chamber of Commerce and other trade associations to ensure compliance with the licensing mandate.
Earlier Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries submitted a memorandum to The Commissioner,  Belagavi City Corporation, Belagavi regarding Trade License and Renewal of Trade License.
