As the Belagavi Smart City and L&T have taken up respective works on Khanapur Road, the Belagavi Traffic Police has announced traffic diversions on the said route for at least a month, with the exception of February 27th when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the city. Smart City has undertaken white topping while L&T is laying new water pipes.
In order to ensure the safety of all drivers, all types of vehicles have been diverted and the public will have to use alternative routes.
Vehicles traveling from the 3rd Railway Gate to Rani Chennamma Circle via Atal Bihari Vajpayee Marg (Khanapur Road) Gogte Circle will proceed via Gogte Circle using Congress Road.
Residents traveling from the Khanapur side towards Angol, Vadagaon, and Shahapur should take a right turn at Desur Cross onto Yallur Road, while those traveling from Chorla, Jamboti, and Peernawadi should take a right turn near Bemco Cross and proceed through KLE Engineering College and 4th Railway Gate to join Angol Main Road.
Those residing in the Tilakwadi area who wish to enter Belagavi city from Somwar Peth, Mangalwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, and Guruwar Peth should use Congress Road through 2nd Railway Gate and Deshmukh Road, 1st Railway Gate on Shukurwar Peth without traveling towards Govaves Circle.
For those traveling towards Angol, Bhagya Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, and Hindwadi area towards Govaves Circle Khanapur Road, they should use Hindwadi Main Road to Dhaka Bangla (Kore Galli Cross), and then take Shahapur Road to join Shri Basveshwar Circle.
The Belagavi City Police kindly request the public to cooperate with the above traffic changes.
