As many as 20 old buses used by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) are deployed in the Belagavi division of the NWKRTC after re-branding and it is an all-too-familiar occurrence: the old BMTC buses inducted by NWKRTC on city bus routes breaking down on a daily basis.

The BMTC) has sent around 60 old non-AC buses to North-Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and the BMTC has charged ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh for each bus as per media reports.

It is an all-too-familiar occurrence: the old BMTC buses inducted by NWKRTC on city bus routes break down on a daily basis. Almost every day, one or more of these buses experience some kind of malfunction in the middle of the road.

Now 20 of those old buses which have already been used for 10 years or so are deployed on the Belagavi division for City and suburban routes which break down almost daily.

We must thank BMTC Bengaluru for passing the buck to NWKRTC, who foolishly accepted the buses, and now we are faced with this daily nuisance. Let’s take these dilapidated buses off the roads once and for all!
