A devastating incident unfolded at Kitwad Falls, as a youth from Azad Nagar, Belagavi, lost his life in a drowning mishap. The unfortunate event occurred on Wednesday, the 13th, at 4 pm. The victim, identified as 17-year-old, Ujeb Mujawar was part of a group of friends who had embarked on a leisurely picnic.
Ujeb and his companions, jubilant after completing their SSLC exams, had chosen Kitwad for their post-exam celebrations. However, what began as a day of merriment turned into a tragedy when one of them ventured into the waters of Kitwad Falls and failed to resurface. Ujeb Mujawar, the victim, drowned near the Kalkundri bank.
Despite the repeated warnings and advisories against venturing into the water bodies, tourists, often unaware of the area’s risks, continue to tempt fate. The allure of capturing selfies and bathing in the dam water has led to several unfortunate incidents like this one.
