Two day International Conference at VTU- MBA Belagavi

Visvesvaraya Technological University’s Department of Management Studies Belagavi is celebrating its 25th anniversary by hosting a two-day International Conference on Emerging Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities in Global Business and Technology on June 8th and 9th, 2023. The conference is being jointly organized with AIMS, and the esteemed Prof. Thomas Russack, Professor and Director of the Institute of Automation and Industrial Management in Germany, was the chief guest and keynote speaker.

During the inauguration, Prof. Russack emphasized the importance of digital strategies and digital transformation in today’s business landscape. He also highlighted the significant challenge of change management and the need for innovation and value delivery to customers. He noted that institutions and corporations are moving towards greater transparency and value addition, and survival in both global and domestic markets is a question of being the fittest.

The guest of honor, Prof. B. Ramesh, former Dean and honorary Professor of Central University of Kerala, praised the VTU MBA department and stressed the importance of networking and exchanging ideas for mutual growth in institutions and management education as a whole.

The program began with a warm welcome from Prof. T.N. Srinivas, Registrar of Evaluation, who highlighted the latest best practices being introduced at VTU and proudly announced that VTU ranks among the top 100 institutions according to the NIRF rankings.

Overall, the conference promises to be an exciting and informative event, bringing together experts from around the world to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in global business and technology.

Dr. M.M. Munshi, Chairperson of VTU-MBA, spoke about the upcoming conference, expressing his excitement at the overwhelming response from participants across the states and abroad. He noted that the organizers had received an impressive 203 full research papers on various topics, highlighting the importance of conferences in creating new knowledge and fostering collaboration among individuals and institutions.

Dr. Munshi emphasized the need for universities to train students to solve immediate problems and to continually innovate and architect for challenges that may emerge in the future. He believes that this is the key to success for institutions today.

The function was presided over by Prof. Rangaswamy, the Registrar of the university, who praised the efforts of the Department of Management Studies in conducting this high-profile intellectual exercise. He stressed the importance of creating job providers rather than job seekers and the need for the economy to produce quality goods for export rather than import.

Prof. Rangaswamy enumerated the kind of competition that exists in the economy and the opportunities that exist for young minds. He appealed to the students to take advantage of such programs and shape their skills and careers accordingly.

The conference is set to feature technical sessions by high-profile individuals such as Dr. Bhimraya Metri, IIM Director, Nagpur, and entrepreneur and TEDx speaker Mr. Palakkad on the second day. Several dignitaries and delegates are expected to participate both online and offline in this international conference.
