Shri Umesh Vishwanath Katti (Age 61) passed away due to massive cardiac arrest in Bengaluru today.
He was the current Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Forest of Karnataka.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. According to sources, Katti collapsed in the bathroom of his Dollar’s Colony residence here and was rushed to the hospital.
He was a six term Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly
The final rites will be performed at his hometown Bellad bagewadi Hukkeri in Belagavi.
The Karnataka govt has declared holiday for all schools and colleges in Belagavi today.
The body will be airlifted to Belagavi and will reach by 9 am
Umesh Katti, had created a record of sorts in the state politics winning eight of the nine elections he contested.
