A very Noble gesture on the part of the MLIRC to celebrate Veer Naris & Veterans Day. Also a memorable occasion for the Veterans who had served the country through this Maratha Regiment and are now still alive to be present on this occasion to receive their felicitations. I, for one, am the surviving son of one of your JCO– (late) Subedar( Head/Clerk) Shaikh Ahmed S/o Fattemohamad who entered active military service (British Indian Army)as a Jawan way back in the year 1927 into the 4th Marathas and had retired from The Records Office,MLIRC Belgaum(Belgavi) way back in Oct.1953 and subsequently expired in May 1964 in his home-town Pune( Maharashtra State). Having thus being brought up in a military environment through-out my childhood and boyhood period, I value very much the valor and sacrifices these service personnel have to endure through-out their career to upkeep the high tradition of the Armed Forces of India.
