The dead body of Anjana Appanna Hanbar 23-year-old pregnant woman suspected to be killed by tiger at Mudagavi village(Jamboti) in Khanapur taluk on Wednesday evening has been located.

The irked villagers were very angry on the forest department officials on their inefficiency to capture the tiger since so many days. MLA Arvind Patil, Prakash Huekkeri, ADC Praveen Kumar visited the spot in Jamboti today. A 300 strong police force has been deployed in the area.

It is still unclear whether this is the same Tiger which was released here in last month brought from Chikamanglur.

From the wounds on the body it seems the tiger latched upto her neck and dragged her for a small distance and then fled away.

Villagers pelted stones when they saw a few policemen and forest official javing food on the road side when the villagers were taking the dead body to the village.

A compensation of Rs.5 lakh has been announced to the kin of the dead.
Forest officials have now ordered the tiger to be shot, sources said.
