BELAGAVI, May 9: Visvesvaraya Technological University in association with ESPRIT, USA DMG Mori Seiki, Japan will organise one-day “International seminar on Digital Manufacturing (Smart Factory) at its Jnana Sangama campus at Machhe on May 11.
Working professionals and academicians will be attending the seminar, according to a VTU press release issued here on Tuesday.
Digital manufacturing is the current trend in manufacturing technologies, including cyber physical systems, internet of things and cloud computing. It has Modular Structured smart factories, cyber physical systems monitor physical process, creating virtual copy of physical world to make decentralised decisions. These technologies help improve the quality and flexibility within manufacturing industry.
The workshop will focus its deliberations to highlight the opportunities in smart manufacturing, which predominantly helps the industries to be efficient and sustainable. The workshop will provide the participants with pivotal knowledge on industry 4.0 and its implementation.
The key speakers for the seminar are Dean Frayssinet CEO, DP Technology, USA, Jan Moellenhoff Director Mori Seiki, Japan and Elango S., Managing Director, Galaxy Machinery, Belagavi.
