Water level of Rakaskop reservoir rises by 2 inches

Photo of author

There has been some good rainfall in the catchment areas of Rakaskop and Hidkal Dam. The water level in the Rakaskop reservoir has increased by 2 inches in a day which is a sign of some relief. The current water level of Rakaskop is at 2446.75 feet, but there has been no improvement in the water supply to the city as of now. The flow of water by use of gravity will only work when the water level rises above 2451 feet until then water will have to be pumped out.

The Gokak Falls has also begun to flow since yesterday but it will take some good amount of rains for it fall at its known glory.
