The winter session of the Karnataka Legislature is scheduled to commence on December 4th, and as customary, the Police have undertaken significant security measures. This year is no exception, as a staggering 5,000 police personnel from across the state have been deployed for duty over the next 12-15 days.
To accommodate the arriving police personnel, German tents have been arranged for their stay during the session near the SVS Halga. In fact, due to the sheer number of officers involved, a massive township consisting of four large German tents has been constructed to provide suitable accommodation.
The construction of this township near Suvarna Soudha has facilitated the housing of 1,800 personnel, with an additional 600 at the Macche KSRP Training Center, 300 at the Kangrali Training Center, 150 near Sambra Airport, and the remaining personnel distributed among various locations such as Bhutaramanahatti Veerabhadreshwar Temple, Shahapur Temple, and the Police Training Center at Khanapur. In total, there are accommodations for police personnel at 15 different sites.
To ensure the comfort of the officers, hot water is provided for meals and bathing. The waterproof tents, capable of housing up to 2,000 police personnel, are equipped with beds, blankets, pillows, and bed sheets. Additionally, charging arrangements have been made to cater to the officers’ electronic devices.
