A 52-year-old woman was severely injured in a bear attack incident at Maan village of Kankumbi forest range in Khanapur on Wednesday.
The injured has been identified as Roopavati Krishna Varandekar, resident of Maan village. According to sources, Roopavati was along with two other women returning home from jungles after collecting fire wood when the bear attacked her near the school of the village. At the very information forest department personnels along with villagers rushed Roopavati to district hospital. However, noting her critical condition she was shifted to KLE hospital.
Forest dept should ensure that poor people not venture in forests , just for firewood
Why the poor cannot understand there are wild animals and may attack..its common sense
why cant the ANNA BHAGYA, SHADI BHAGYA, MANE BHAGYA given to these people and moved from forest area.
