Beginning with just a few kilos in 1947, K. C. Patankar and Sons from Belagavi has grown to produce many tons of products every year. It has been an incredible journey for the company, which was founded by the late Shri.Kalyan Chintaman Patankar.

Born in 1907 in the small village of Arawali in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, Shri.Kalyan moved to Belagavi in 1930 and began working in a shop owned by Murkumbi at the market.

In 1940, he opened his own shop, trading in dry fruits and Kirana goods. Two years later, he was granted the distributorship of Sathey Biscuits, a well-known Indian biscuit manufacturer, and achieved the highest sales in North Karnataka for nearly 30 years.

K. C. Patankar and Sons were founded by Late. Shri. Kalyan Chintaman Patankar in the year 1947 as he realized that the pickles and chutneys prepared by his wife, Smt. Laxmibai Patankar was being highly appreciated by all their friends, neighbors, and relatives. So he decided to take a big stride and entered into manufacturing these products on a small scale of just a few kilos during the year 1947.

His unit was soon granted an FPO license, making it a pioneer in the pickle manufacturing industry in Karnataka. Today, K. C. Patankar and Sons continues to be a leader in the industry, producing many tons of products every year.

In 1942, K.C. Patankar began manufacturing pickles, spices, and chutney on a small scale of 100kg, and marketed them, especially during the marriage season. He was well supported by Shri Nanasaheb Sathe, the Managing Director of Sathe Biscuits, and his friends in the market.

In 1958, K.C. Patankar and Sons acquired an FPO license, one of the few remaining in India today. In 1965, his son Narhari (Bapu) and nephew Shankar (Bandu) joined the business, and by 1970, Madhukar, Sudhakar, and Kashinath had also joined, increasing production to 50-70 tons.

Shri. K.C. Patankar passed away in 1980, leaving behind his goodwill and principles for the successors of Patankar Pickles. In 1991, Milind, a representative of the third generation, and later Rohan, joined the business. The specialty of the Patankar Pickles products is that, despite the generations that have passed, the taste and quality remain the same.

The products are now available on Amazon as well as and other places like Pune in various stores.

Today, K.C. Patankar and Sons have established itself as a manufacturer of quality pickles, chutneys, and masala, thanks to the hard work of the Patankar family and their factory workers. Even after seventy-five years, the unique taste and quality of their products remain unchanged.
