Master of Group singing – Vinayak More Swaranjali Music Academy

Each one has a singer within him, a few remain bathroom singers and a few come out and train hundreds of others who then with their soulful voice create magic. A disciple of senior musician Pandit Nandan Herlekar of Belagavi, Vinayak More, Founder of Swaranjali Music Academy, Belagavi, who is especially known as “Master of group singing”.

It was in the 1990s when there were people in Belagavi who were fascinated with the music, but they were less in numbers. One among them was More, who commenced his profession as a music teacher in the year 1998. Vinayak said there were very few students who were interested in learning music during those days when he turned up to be a teacher. But it was the start and gradually more and more persons were fascinated by music, he added.

 Within a span of a decade, the talent in music has become very competitive across the world, said More. He said that though the flavors of the old music and the new music have changed, the sweetness is the same. “As a music teacher by profession, training music to the students has also become a challenge for us in this competitive world. A teacher has to be updated with the technology, latest musical instruments and the taste of the music while conducting the classes of the students, he said.

Vinayak More Swaranjali Music Academy Vinayak teaches in Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 and has been in this profession for 22 years. He has won many awards in many competitions held at Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and other places. Under the guidance of More, as many as 10,000 students from 28 different schools have presented Mass singing programme “Suramayee Bharat” on 26-01-2006 at Union Gymkhana ground in Belagavi. He succeeded in creating Guinness World Record of 5 Patriotic mass singing by 15,800 students of Maratha Mandal Group of Institutions, Belagavi. He also provided free training to differently abled children and succeeded in organizing their program which titled “Differently Abled Artistes”.

 In his guidance, during the 2011 World Kannada Meet, More trained 550 students of B Ed and D Ed to present Naadageete State anthem “Jay Bharat Jananiy Tanujate”. To create awareness among budding teachers about the importance of imparting “Music Education” and also the benefits of listening to the music More has been organizing free Music workshops for teacher trainees of all B Ed colleges in Belagavi every year. He also provides free music education to all interested children every Sunday at Vadagaon in Belagavi.

Best teacher” award by Bharat Vikas Parishad,  “Karnataka Kala Bhooshan” Prashasti at Bengaluru, “Rashtiya Sangeet kala Bhooshan” by Shikshak vikas parishad at Goa, “Sadbhavana prashasti” by State Human Rights Board, “Rashtriya Sirigannada prashasti” and many more accolades are to his name.
