3rd edition of the Khanapur Half Marathon on Sunday

The 3rd edition of the Khanapur Half Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, October 29, 2023, along the picturesque Khanapur-Jamboti Road. The race will commence at the Malaprabha Ground in Khanapur, with the esteemed presence of Sh. Vithalrao Halgekar, MLA of Khanapur, who will flag off the event.

Notable guests, including Sh. Amit Kumar Sharma, IRS Additional Commissioner of CGST, Sh. Umesh Ramgurwadi, Past President of Rotary Club of Venugram & Rotary Club of Venugram Team, Sadanand Patil, Managing Director of Laila Sugar Khanapur, and Dr. Radhakrishna Harwadekar, Shivraj Dental Clinic, will also be in attendance.

Anticipated to draw approximately 1000-1200 participants from all corners of India, the Khanapur Half Marathon offers a total prize money pool of Rs. 2.5 lakh across various age categories, catering to the young, middle-aged, and senior citizens in both male and female divisions. Elite runners, Ironman finishers, and renowned endurance athletes from different states of India will also be joining this event, making it an exceptional opportunity for the youth of the Belagavi-Khanapur region to partake in an internationally recognized race.

Race Categories, Prize Money, and Registration Process

There are four race categories available for participants: Half Marathon (21.097 km), 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km Run. This is a timed run, and the timings of all runners will be captured through an RFID Timing Chip. The race will start and finish at Malaprabha Ground in Khanapur, beginning at 6:00 AM.

All registered runners will receive beautifully designed medals, breakfast after the race, a high-quality event T-shirt, an E-Timing certificate, event photographs, hydration support, and medical assistance during the race, among other benefits.
