6 from Belagavi successfully complete the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa

A proud moment for Belagavi as 6 persons from Belagavi including 2 women successfully completed the grueling IRONMAN 70.3 Goa.

Shanbhag Santosh, Halgekar Indrajeet, Hargude Rohan, Sunthankar Shreya & Shivalkar Mayura (Venugram Cycling club Belagavi) along with Dr. Amit Pingat finished the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa.

1450 triathletes fought up for top honors at the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa which was flagged off at the Miramar beach in Panaji on Sunday morning.

The race includes a stellar lineup of seasoned and amateur triathletes from India and 33 countries. The 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Goa will offer qualifying slots for the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship and participants are required to complete a grueling 1.9km open sea swim, 90 km cycling and 21 km running.

Shanbhag Santosh clocked a time of 6:22:35

Halgekar Indrajeet – 7:56

Hargude Rohan – 7:55

Sunthankar Shreya – 6:58

Shivalkar Mayura – 7:29

Dr.Amit Pingat – 7:52

Santosh had successfully completed the IRONMAN UK, Bolton England in July 2022 and the earlier being IRONMAN, Langkawi Malaysia in 2017. Santosh also participated Ironman triathlon event in Goa in 2019 and Ironman SriLanka in 2018.

Mayura Shivalkar and her Son Megh had completed the IRONMAN KAZAKHSTAN Nur-Sultan Ironman Triathlon. She has also completed the Ironman Colombo in February 2018.

Shreya Sunthankar had also successfully completed the Ironman Goa first edition.

    Maj Ashish Sheron from Commando School Belgaum has also finished this Goa Ironman 70.3. Commando Wing takes pride in participating any such event in Belgaum or nearby places. He has also clocked a descent timing. The sole reason to inform you is, Commando Wing takes pride in being part of Belagavi City and it can be part of it’s media bites too.
