Atish Jadhav to represent India at Special Olypics in Australia

atish_jadhavSpecially abled swimmer from Swimmers Club Belgaum & Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum Master Atish Anil Jadhav of Belgaum has been selected as the member of Indian Team for participating in the Special Olympics Asia- Pacific (SOAP) regional competition.

The said competition will be held at NEW CASTLE, Australia from 1st to 7th December 2013. Atish is the lone swimmer from Karnataka to represent India to participate in this meet and he is competing in 200 meters & 400 meters Freestyle events.

Atish Jadhav a mentally retarded child of Anil and Anuradha Jadhav from Hosur. They joined swimming in the year 2004 in a swimming coaching camp conducted by Swimmers Club & Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum for the Underprivileged & Disabled is the winner of 1 Gold Medal at the International and 10 Medals at the National Competition.

Atish does his swimming practice at the Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool, Goaves, Belgaum under the guidance of swimming coaches Umesh Kalghatigi, Sudhir Kusane, Prasad Tendolkar, Anand Patil, Akshay Sheregar, Ajinkya Mendake. He is getting support from LEAD, the society for the Development of Disabled and Underprivileged, Polyhydron Foundation, Rtn. Avinash Potdar, Smt. Maneck Kapadia, Smt. Lata Kittur, Rtn. Basavraj Vibhuti and others.
