Bharatesh Education Trust donates Rs. 30000 to wrestler Niranjan Karlekar

Mr. Niranjan Karlekar student of JGND Bharatesh College of Commerce studying in B Com final year has been selected for Olympic Council of Asia’s 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2017 at Ashgabat in Turkmenistan under The National Traditional Wrestling Federation (India) NTWFI. He will be contesting in the 65 kg Wrestling Competition which will be held from 17th to 27th September 2017.

Mr. Niranjan Karlekar has won Silver Medal in 61 kg category and Gold Medal in the 60 kg category of the inter collegiate wrestling competition in the year 2016. He also represented Rani Channamma University in 60 kg National Level Wrestling Competition at Kurukshetra in Haryana and secured 4th place. He also secured 2nd place in the 66 kg Mahapour Kesari State Level Wrestling Championship.

niranjanMr. Niranjan Karlekar hails from Yallur village. His financial condition does not support him to raise huge amount of Rs. 1,20,000/- needed to participate in the competition.

As a kind gesture, Bharatesh Education Trust gifted him Rs. 30,000/- to participate in this competition. Mr. Rajiv Doddanavar, Secretary, Bharatesh Education Trust presented this cheque in the presence of Mrs. Sunita Deshpande, Principal JGND Bharatesh College of Commerce.

On behalf of JGND Bharatesh College of Commerce, we appeal to donors to contribute generously to him and help him achieve his dream of participating in this competition and bringing laurels to the institution and the nation at large.

  1. Advance congratulations Mr. Niranjan, very glad to see our belgaum lad will be representing our proud nation in the 5th Asian Indoor & martial arts games 2017
    But its a very sad thing to see that an budding Olympian has to rely on public financial support
