Moin Junnedi (Age 15 years) Wonder Boy and Aquatic Star of Belgaum and Swimming Coach Umesh Kalghatgi today left Belgaum to participate in 10th IWAS ( International Wheel Chair and Amputee Sports) Junior World Games to be held between 3rd August 2014 to 8th August 2014 at Stroke Mandeville, United Kingdom.Â
Master Moin is very delicate boy in spite of having suffered 200 plus fractures in 15 years he has participated in 1 International and 5 National Swimming Competitions for the Disabled and won 11 medals comprising 10 Gold and 1 Silver Medal.
Master Moin, joined swimming in the year 2009 in a Swimming Coaching Camp conducted for Underprivileged and Disabled by Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum since then he has been practicing this sport. Moin’s family is basically from a small village called Kudachi, Raibag and at present are staying in Maratha Colony, Tilakwadi, Belgaum. Moin is a Son of Mr. Mushtaqueahmed and Mrs. Kousarbanu. He also has elder sister Sakina and younger twin brothers Sufiyan and Samaque.
Master Moin is also a member of the Association of Physically Handicapped and does his swimming practice at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool and Survarna JNMC Swimming Pool, under the able guidance of Swim Coaches Umesh Kalghatgi, S.R. Sindia, Sudhir Kusane, Prasad Tendolkar, Anand patil, Kallappa Patil, Ajinkya Mendake and Akshay Sheregar.
He is supported by M. Far Company and encouraged by Hon MP Shri Prabhakar Kore, Rtn. Avinash Potdar, Ms Maneck Kapadia, Ms Lata Kittur, Shri Nilkantharao Jagdale, Shri S. R. Sindia, Ms Anjani Desai (Arjuna Awardee) Ms Shakutai Paranjape, Dr. V.K. Dabbas, G. S. Bailkeri, M.M. Mohata, Rtn. Basavraj Vibhuti, Rtn. Col. Prakash Mithare, Madhukar Bagewadi, Suryakant Hindalgekar.
