Niranjan finishes runners up in u-25 National chess

Master. Y. Grahesh of Andhra won the title of the 27th National Youth Under-25 Open Chess Championship-2018 despite tied scores with FIDE Master Niranjan Navalgund of Belagavi, who has to satisfy with runners-up

Both the players scored 7.5 points out of 9 rounds. 4 players from Karnataka had represented Under-25 National Youth championship.


Niranjan Navalgund registered seven wins and a draw, where as Master Grahesh won six rounds with three draws in the nine round event. The 27th National Youth Under-25 open Chess championship-2018 organised by Madhya Pradesh Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation.

The event was organized at Hotel Kanta Shravan Palace, Bhopal, Madha Pradesh from 21st August, 2018 to 27th August, 2018. Totally 86 chess players from all over India participated in the event. Recently Niranjan Navalgund has been awarded FIDE Master title.
