Swimmers’ club Belgaum and Aquarius swim club Belgaum in association with rotary club of Belgaum successfully conducted 13th invitational age group day and night swimming championship 2012-13. This annual event, conducted for the 13th year in succession at the ROTARY CORPORATION SPORTS ACEDEMY SWIMMING POOL, Basaveshwar Circle, Belgaum. The event was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Pandit Vijay Shankar Mehata.
500 swimmers from various cities of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa like Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Hubli, Kolhapur, Sangli, Ichalkarnji, Sindhudurg, Thane and Belgaum battled over 2 days for honors for bagging this General Championship. The children between the age of 4 years to 25 years and Masters above the age of 40 competed in 100 events spread over 2 days.
The General Championship Trophy is bagged by Swimmers Club Belgaum with 312 points, the second highest points earned by Choice Aquatic Club, Pune and the third highest points earned by Dolphin Club, Bangalore.
