The girls from Belagavi have shown their mettle as they have won 2 Gold Medals at the Khelo India Games being held at Pune.
Akshata Kamati, the daughter of a farmer, won gold in Girls U-21 71 kg event in weightlifting. Kamati representing Karnataka trains at the SAI Bengaluru Centre. “Akshita’s technique is special & will take her to high levels,”says her coach Virpal Kaur.
Daneshwari Eti of Ingalagavi Village, Athani taluka won Gold in 100 meter Running at 11.99 seconds.
