Bapu: Yes Bittoo.
Bittoo: I am not surprised over the Mahadayi tribunal finally delivering the long-awaited award to share Mahadayi water between Goa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, as it has come on expected time Bapu.
Bapu: How did you expect that it will come now?
Bittoo: It’s so simple Bapu. Aren’t you aware of elections to the Lok sabha just few couple of months away?
Bapu: Hummmmm! But, the Tribunal is a judicial body.
Bittoo: Yes Bapu. But, the fact is that all those who have been agitating for the past two decades, particularly since last four years very well knew that the verdict will eventually come just a few months before the elections.
Bapu: That’s just a coincidence Bittoo.
Bittoo: O’course! It’s just a coincidence but came on expected lines. But, don’t you think a political party in power at the centre will take full advantage and credit this coincidence to itself with an eye on votes Bapu?
Bapu: I don’t know Bittoo?
This is a citizen-centric new column, wherein the author(Bitto) is an ordinary, politically unaffiliated common man of the city who in his/her inimitable approach takes up various issues with the Bapu’s soul! Apparently, the interaction between them portrays ironies of sorts encountered by the common man and others in the city in a lighter vein. The author’s name will not be disclosed to the readers as he/she represents the common man of the society. This column aims at creating awareness and sensitising cross sections of our city on various issues of public concern only but in a lighter vein without holding any contempt against any institution or individual.
