Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha was in Belagavi today to make his address at the STEP 2018 conclave organized by Prabhuddha Bharat.

At the Airport Sinha said that about 10-12 flights will be made operational from January 2019 from Belagavi and the number will only increase in the days to come. The minister was quite happy with the upkeep and cleanliness of the Airport.

Minister stressed on exploring agriculture, floriculture, foundry and textile market in Belagavi and thereby boosting the initiation of Cargo terminal at IXG.

jayant-sinhaHe also suggested having flying clubs/ academies at the Belagavi airport so as to give diverse employment opportunities to the thousands of engineering and medical students studying at Belagavi to embark on a career in aviation.

Minister also asked MP Suresh Angadi to engage an interior decorator for the Belagavi airport for further beautification.
Under UDAN 3, the minister said be assured Belagavi will get good connectivity to all many cities.

  1. Above news is very good for us Belgaumites . If Air Cargo service starts it will definitely boost the Industries and business of Belgaum. And this will create lots of opportunity in getting employment.

    The Kannada news channel tody reported that 15 flights would commence from 5 Dec 2018 from Belgaum Airport.This contradicts with your post. Can you please clarify.
