Here is the good news for all the film connoisseurs of Belagavi. The second session of Screenshort Film Club will be hosted on 16 March 2019 at the Lokmanya Society’s Hall at Bhagyanagar, 2nd Cross from 6PM.
Screenshort Film Club is created by Society of Artistic Vision, Belagavi in collaboration with Lokmanya Granthalaya and in Association with Arbhaat short Film Club, Pune. In the second session, 3 thought-provoking short films will be screened.
National award-winning short film “Bhar Dupari” & “Thiyya” by the director, Swapnil Kapure and a Bengali Short Film “Memories of Mother” by Rohan Dewanjea.
The screening will be followed by a tête-à-tête with the director Swapnil Kapure.
An FTII Alumni of Direction, Swapnil is interested in telling the stories which are more close to human life. He likes to experiment on every aspect of film making & try to explore the emotional graph of the characters in different situations while telling an engaging story.
His Student projects, Thiyya (12 min Documentary), Bhar Dupari (15 min Fiction) at FTII, Pune, have been screened at different film festivals across India as well as Abroad and received multiple awards.
BHAR DUPARI got JURI SPECIAL MENTION in 65th NATIONAL FILM AWARDS OF INDIA. Bhar Dupari also selected for Indian Panorama in Prestigious International Film Festival of India, Goa.
THIYYA got BEST DOCUMENTARY INTERNATIONAL CAPA AWARD in CIECT, Bulgaria. Also awarded Best Documentary at Kolhapur International Film Festival.
