Veeranna Charantimath and Jinadatta Desai to receive honorary doctorates
BELAGAVI, May 2: Academician Veeranna Charantimath and poet Jinadatta Desai have been selected for the honorary doctorate degrees of the Rani Channamma University. The honour will be conferred on the occasion of the fifth convocation of the university on May 8.
According to a RCU-release issued here on Tuesday, Governor and Chancellor of State universities approved the names of the two eminent persons for the honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of their services and contributions in the fields of education and literature.
The convocation will be conducted at the auditorium of Vishvesvaraya Technological University at Machhe at 12 a.m. on Monday. The Pro-chancellor of Karnataka State Universities and Minister of Higher Education Basavaraj Rayareddi will preside over the convocation. Prof.D.P. Singh, Director, NAAC, Bengaluru will deliver the convocation address on the occasion.
