Belagavi South Constituency

• The Bharatiya Janata Party is committed to ensure the all-round development of Belagavi South Assembly Constituency. We assure you that we will work with integrity and sincerity to fulfil the long held dreams and aspirations of the people of Belagavi. In this endeavour, we promise to do the following:
• Provide clean and safe drinking water from Malaprabha River
• Promote economic development and employment by encouraging the establishment of labour intensive small scales industries in the region
• Chalk up plans to set up IT parks in Belagavi on a public private partnership mode to promote Information Technology Sector in secondary cities
• Explore feasibility of providing access to an integrated cold storage network to prevent wastage of agricultural produce and enable farmers to double their income
• Provide regular supply of electricity
• Promote eco-tourism at the Khanapur Reserve Forest. Notify the elephant corridor area to protect the elephants and avert human-elephant conflicts
• Fast track the projects under the Smart City Programme. Implement intelligent traffic management systems to provide priority to bus lanes and non-motorized transport. Decongest the traffic in the City area by constructing the ring road
• Accelerate the construction of the first and third gate railway over- bridge
• Provide adequate parking facilities for heavy transport vehicles
• Construct an integrated multi-level parking facility in the City Centre to ease parking problems
• Restore Belagavi Fort and provide amenities to boost tourism in the area
• Create a heritage park in the Vaccination Depot Grounds. This park would be an integrated campus to promote heritage, tourism development while maintaining lung space for the City
• Provide Health Fitness Centres with proper screening and treatment facilities in every ward
• Improve the standard of education and provide better digital infrastructure and facilities to Government Schools
• Ensure regular supply of safe and clean drinking water in all wards
• Coordinate efforts with all the departments to ensure that the power cables are relocated underground
• Improve NWKRTC bus connectivity and frequency
• Increase passenger amenities and renovate the Belagavi City Railway Station. Install a Big Charka at the entrance of the Railway Station to symbolize Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to the Belagavi Station
• Fast track the Bangalore Mumbai Economic Corridor (BMEC) to enable the creation of industrial hubs in the region
• Create an environment for companies and large scale manufacturing industries to invest in Belagavi to generate employment in large numbers
• Set up international standard infrastructure for sports and youth programs
