As many as 30 shop owners have been served a notice by the Belagavi city corporation stating they have to provide the basement for parking only.
The notice says that as per law the basement has to be utilised for parking and hence all shops in the basement have to be removed and space must be used for parking.
Notices have been served in Kirloskar road, Samadevi Galli, Khade Bazar, Ramdev Galli and would be extended further to other areas.
Deputy Commissioner and Administrator City Corporation Nitesh Patil is keen on getting the parking issue solved by the use of basement.

Traffic police job is to fine and put no parking boards. Corporation job is to close eyes on violation of buildings. RTO is to tax heavy road tax on vehicles. Government job is to hike Petrol . What else remain for us . There isn’t anyone who can speak for citizens.
If shops are built violating construction licence and approved plan. Then definitely needs corrective action. Otherwise authorities need to be booked for Derilection of duty.
