The NORTH WESTERN KARNATAKA ROAD TRANSPORT CORPORATION is most likely to start a bus service from Belagavi Airport to Belagavi Railway Station(via CBT) from June 1, 2022, on a trial basis.
There has been a strong demand for such a bus service as more and more people are traveling by air.
The decision was taken at a meeting between officials of Sambra Airport Authority and NWKRTC. An AC bus will be provided for the same which will have a special livery.
This has also been discussed from time to time in airport development review meetings. Accordingly, Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Director, Naik, Divisional Controller NWKRTC, KK Lamani and other officers of NWKRTC held a ta meeting at Sambra airport.
The bus will be scheduled as per the arrival of the Delhi flight, to begin with, and then the entire schedule is likely to be released.
The bus will take the Airport- CBT and culminate at the Belagavi Railway Station bus stand.
Also for better convenience of the travellers the same could be listed on the Smart city My Belagavi city app where the live tracking can be possible.
It would be very beneficial for the travelers if they can get cheaper options to reach the airport as of now it would roughly cost Rs.500+ for a taxi for a drop to the airport.
Taxis charge 1000 rs for drop please note. Hence it is important to have this service at the earliest
Not only belgavi similar services need to be operated on a regular basis even in hubli such that the railway station is also connected to the airport and CBT ,you cannot expect all the traveling middle class to be fleeced exhorbitantly by the auto and cab lobby
