Bicycle public sharing inaugurated in Belagavi

The Public bicycle-sharing initiative was inaugurated in Belagavi.

Under Public Private Partnership (PPP) of Smart city limited has envisaged a plan to start such a service in Belagavi.

Yaana bikes are implementing the same in Belagavi.

With an Objective to make the city more livable for its residents and desirable for visitors, the Public Bicycle Sharing Program is to be initiated which will benefit by reducing the use of private motorized vehicles and making streets of the city more walk-able, environment friendly thereby providing last mile connectivity to public transport users.

Under the system, bicycles can be borrowed from docking stations set up across the City for a nominal fee. The users, however, have to be registered as members by paying a fee that also includes a refundable deposit and obtain a smart card by swiping which they can take out a bicycle from the docking station.

The user will have to Download the YAANA APP

Open the app and find YAANA bicycle near to you.

Scan QR code on the cycle to unlock.

Park at designated YAANA stations near your destination and Manually lock.

  1. Fees concept is understandable. But security deposit? And what’s the process of getting this deposit back? Deposit it and forget it? What happens when the service is stopped if the business is not viable? How do we get back the deposit back?

  2. The concept is very good and useful, Sorry to say in Camp area there is no YAANA station as per above article, Request the concerns to do the needful for CAMP AREA also.
