There was a long pending demand of the citizens for bus shelters. Currently only a handful of bus shelters are there in the city. Travelers always had a hard time standing in the sun and then now in the rain in the open waiting for the city buses. Also the problem of buses stopping anywhere as per the wish of the driver also was a nightmare for the travelers.
The City corporation has floated tender for Supply and Installation of stainless steel railing Bus Shelter in Vadagaon, Old Belgaum Naka, Angol Harimandir, RPD Cross Tilakwadi, Basaveshwar Circle Goaves, Gogte Circle, Camp Petrol Pump, Shivaji Nagar, Ashok Circle & Channamma Circle (Ambedkar Road), within Belgaum City limit.
The total value of the tender is Rs.29,00,000.
Hence each shelter would be worth Rs.2,90,000 [10 bus shelters]
The bids would be opened 06/08/2013 and the time for completion after the issue of work order is 3 months.
We hope this is implemented at the earliest as seen in the images of the tender the bus shelters would be up in 3 months and serve the citizens.
