The Karnataka State Cabinet on Tuesday agreed to grant 82.30 acres of land at Hirebagewadi village to Rani Channamma University (RCU).
The RCU had demanded a total of 126.07 acres of land in Hirebagewadi village and adjacent Halagimarady village.
The Cabinet has sanctioned only 82.30 acres of government land in the Hirebagewadi village.
The Union Government in 2019 had refused to regularise the grant of forest land to Rani Channamma University (RCU) and hence the RCU has now been forced to move out of its present location at Bhutramanhatti next to NH 4.
