On March 22nd, 2024, World Water Day, citizens and volunteers are invited to join hands in a concerted effort to clean up River Malaprabha.

Organized by Parisarakkagi Naavu Belagavi Unit, a Citizen’s Initiative, along with volunteers from
various villages and towns along the Malaprabha and its tributaries Mangetri and Halatri in the Khanapur – Belagavi region, this event aims to initiate the restoration of the river and its surroundings.
The primary objective of this initiative is to rid the river of non-degradable, harmful, and toxic solid waste and trash, paving the way for a cleaner and healthier ecosystem. The ultimate vision is to work tirelessly until the river is restored to its pristine state, an Avirala Nirmala Nirantara Sundara Nadi, from its origin at Kankumbi to its confluence at Kudala Sangama in Balagalkot District.

Similar initiatives are also being planned at other locations by members of Parisarakkagi Naavu at M K Hubli, Kudala Sangama, etc. This is a heartfelt call and appeal to everyone to join these efforts as each pair of hands makes a significant difference.
