The parents of the girl featured in the video have filed an abduction complaint in Belagavi’s APMC police station. BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi was constrained to quit his ministerial post after the video was aired on TV channels.

The complaint says their daughter has been kidnapped before March 2 and also stated that he delayed in the complaint as he was scared for the life of the family who reside in Belagavi.

“My daughter’s life is in danger — we feel she has been abducted. We don’t know where she is and we request the police to search for her,” Prakash, father of the girl, said in his complaint filed late on Tuesday evening, reports theBengalurulive.

The family has also released a video to the media in which they claim the girl’s life is at risk and they are not able to trace her. Her mobile number has been switched off, her mother said in the video.

The police have registered a case under IPC sections 363, 368, 343, 346, 354 and 506 based on the complaint lodged by the father.

Two days ago, the Cubbon Park police had a notice posted on the girl’s relative’s house in Nidagundi in Vijayapura district. She was asked to report to the police station but she has remained inaccessible so far added the Bengalurulive report.
