The Belagavi City Bus Stand redevelopment which has been planned under the Smart city project is in doldrums as the Cantonment board Belagavi has raised issues that it’s land has been used without their permission.
All work has come to stand still and only the bus shelters and the divisional office have been demolished, the work of which had commenced on January 29, 2019.
The Cantonment claims that some land belonging to the Cantonment board is been used for the project without their permission.
For the past 50 odd days, no work is going on there as the Cantonment has asked the Smart city officials to clear the dispute of the land.
The City Bus stand was planned in 2.07 acres out of which 32 gunthas land belongs to the Cantonment and no prior permission was taken from them.
The Cantonment board took objection to the same and stopped all the work as they say, BSCL has encroached on 32 gunthas of its land.
Now that this project is stuck up in a land dispute only the Lord can tell when it would commence.
