CM BS Yediyurappa asks for strict action to control COVID deaths

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has instructed officials to take stringent measures to control COVID-19 infection and mortality in Belagavi district.

At a meeting of senior officials regarding COVID on Wednesday (Oct. 7), he said the administration should comply with the guidelines issued, and all citizens are made aware of the same.

Wearing of Mask is mandatory and those who violate the law should be punished with a penalty. He directed that social distancing should be given priority.

Receiving information from the authorities on the COVID-19 situation, the Chief Minister said that the new guidelines set by the central government in the coming days should be taken as a precautionary measure as more activities are to begin.

District Collector MG Hiremath, shared information at the meeting regarding COVID-19 control in the district, said there is currently a gradual decline in infection and mortality.

Further action will be taken on the implementation of the guidelines, the District Collector said.

Basavaraja Bommai, Home Minister, and Ramesh Jarakihili, District Minister in charge, were also present.

  1. Request the authorities to visit the Walking Tracks in the Golf Course (Race Course Area) from 7 am to 8 am and impose penalty on walkers not wearing masks and not maintaining Social Distance of 2 metres.
