The District Progress Review meeting was held recently in Belagavi where the following points were discussed.
The Public Works Department has submitted a proposal of 73 crore rupees for the construction of a 9 km Four laned road from the airport.
As the session is about to take place, the road development works should be completed immediately. Many new buildings do not have furniture and some buildings are not being used for years. DC Belagavi Nitesh Patil said that to avoid this in the future, while constructing any new government buildings, grant arrangements should be made including the cost of furniture.
He instructed that whenever any road work is undertaken in the city including Mcity Corporation, Smart City, or Railways, information boards about the related work and maintenance should be installed compulsorily.
He said that the city beautification work should be taken up like last time.
There is a need to set up a super specialty hospital at the border to facilitate emergency treatment of the border people. He told the health department officials to prepare a proposal in this regard.
Steps should be taken to install CCTV in all student hostels of the Social Welfare Department.
DC instructed the officials of the education department that a safety committee should be formed at the school level and keep a constant watch on the vehicles dropping the children to school.
DC Patil said that it has been decided to give licenses to start at least 100 homestays in the district this year.
Underground Garbage Bin:
Rudresh Ghali, commissioner of the Belagavi City Corporation, said that underground garbage bins have been installed in some parts of the city and they will be made available for public use after the garbage lifting crane arrives.
1500 dogs have been operated to control the number of stray dogs in the city.
He informed that a total of 35 thousand LEDs are being installed in the city and more than 9 thousand lights have already been installed.
All this, just for the session. Once the session ends, everything will be back to the same thing and no one will care about these commitments.
