A video allegedly showing a tiger near Kondasakoppa, Belagavi, recently went viral, causing widespread concern. However, forest department officials, who visited the area where the tiger was reportedly seen, found no evidence of any tiger activity.
Belagavi ACF Nagaraja addressed the situation, stating, “No tiger or Leopard has come; people are spreading false rumors.” He explained that the video in question was doctored, with the top half showing a tiger and the bottom half a leopard. Two individuals responsible for editing and spreading the video have been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.
ACF Nagaraja assured the public that there is no need for alarm. The forest department is closely monitoring the situation and has spotted a wild cat in the vicinity, which they safely captured and released back into the forest.
