Mahesh Jadhav of Mahesh Foundation has started Generic Plus Swast Aushadhi Seva Kendras which will provide generic medicines that cost 30% to 70% less than the branded equivalent ones.
The first of these outlets was inaugurated at Anjaneya Nagar in Belagavi by the Paramapujya Swamiji of Shri Karanjimath. IMA Belagavi President, Dr. Suchitra Latkar, Dr. Madhav Prabhu, Shri Vijay More, social worker were present for at the inauguration. The representatives of Generic Kart Medicines also were present at the inauguration.
The Swamiji blessed the new outlet and asked the people to focus on their physical wellbeing. The swamiji also praised the work done by Mahesh Jadhav that helped the society’s neediest.
Dr. Prabhu, in his address said that the need of the hour was to provide medicines at economical prices and IMA had stipulated doctors to prescribe the medicine by content rather than brand names. He also mentioned that each patient needed to be aware of his rights by increasing their knowledge of generic medicines that could cut the cost of medicines by as much as 70%.
