Belgaum District Small Scale Industries Association (BDSSIA) has issued a press note demanding immediate up-gradation of basic infrastructure work in the industrial area.

Belagavi is an important Industrial growth centre & contributes next to Bangalore in revenue. Industrial area in Belagavi is majorly located in Udyambag and Macche of Belagavi Dakshin constituency. More than 40,000 labourers & Engineers work in this prominent Industrial area. Many key Products & Equipment needed for space projects, Foundry, Machinery, Automobile, etc are manufactured in this Industrial area.

In Belagavi Major Export Oriented Industries are functioning & Many Foreign delegates visit to the Company.

However the industrial area lacks basic Amenities such as Road, Gutter, Streetlights, Public Drinking water facilities, Public Toilets etc. The current infrastructure scenario is in such bad shape that the raw material/ finished products loaded in trucks cannot be transported due to the pathetic road conditions & the logistics get hampered causing a lot of inconvenience.

Shri Abhay Patil Ji, MLA Belagavi Dakshin had prepared an estimate of Rs 56 Crore to resolve the above mentioned issues & boost industrial morale but unfortunately this proposal was not implemented by Government.

Now the Industrialists & workers are losing faith in the Government & are deciding to boycott the coming Loksabha by-Elections of Belagavi to bring to the notice seriousness of the problem. Deliberations on this subject are gearing up & nearly 50-60,000 people in stake are planning to boycott the elections.

BDSSIA has urge concerned officials & MLA to take it seriously to avoid such situations & take immediate steps.

They requested the Government of Karnataka to start the works as early as possible & avoid unnecessary problems.

Yes, really we( industries) are now fade up. we are not asking for any heaven, just urging for basic infrastructure and this is our right.Atleast now Govt should think of us & act fast. Priority should be given for industrial area devlopment & as most of the industries are located in Belgaum south constituency , Shri Abhay Patil ji who is striving for the betterment should be well supported by the Govt.
