KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi, Karnataka has been ranked 3rd under ‘Swachh Campus’ Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions by MHRD, Government of India in the category ‘University’.
An award ceremony was held today at 11.30 AM at New Delhi. Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon. Minister for Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India announced the ‘Swachh Campus’ Rankings 2018 of Higher Educational Institutes and gave away the awards. On behalf of KLE Deemed University, the award was received by Prof. Dr. Vivek A.Saoji, Vice-Chancellor. Earlier, the KLE Deemed University was ranked 4th for the year 2017.
The ranking has been done on the basis of multiple categories which include Toilets adequacy & maintenance, Garbage clearance systems, Hostel Kitchen hygiene & sophistication of equipment, Water purity, storage, distribution facility, Campus greenery & Rainwater harvesting, Use of solar systems and Village or neighborhood adoption for hygiene.
A team of three assessors nominated by University Grants Commission visited the KLE Deemed University and its constituent units on 20th September 2018 to assess the infrastructure and other facilities for Swachhata Ranking of Higher Education Institutions.
