KLS GIT Celebrates Fifth Graduation Ceremony

“Fifth Graduation Day” of Karnatak Law Society’s Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT) of Belagavi was held on15.09.2021 to confer the degrees on the students passed out in the year 2021 of Autonomous PG/UG Programs. During the function in all 43 toppers were awarded medals, certificates of merit and cash awards. In all 1211 students have got provisional degree certificates.

Chief Guest Prof. S. C. Sharma, Director, NAAC, Bengaluru delivering the graduation day address said that “Today by mastering the anxieties of our times through the tools of innovative education, we must try to eradicate the miseries of mankind. It is true that education is a psychological process towards mental refinement. Under this process, people start their journey from ‘Ajnana to Jnana’, along with their teacher. This opens the inner chambers of the totality of one’s own personality.

The coronavirus pandemic has directly challenged not only the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) but also the education system in several and unexpected ways. This has compelled educational institutions to take radical measures to slow the contagion. He further said that “Pandemic has opened a window of opportunity for HEIs to engage closely with society, support government through its research and innovation thereby by to contribute towards the creation of a more resilient society.

Talking about the spirit of “National Unity” he said that, a spirit of inquisitiveness, urge for innovativeness and adherence to the social service shall be the paramount choices of the graduating students. Hence he urged the graduating students that each student shall possess the spirit of national unity which has already been instilled in the personality by the educational institutions.

Prof. Karisiddappa, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi, speaking on the occasion said that, an educational institute needs to have an aim of improving the well being of society by fulfilling the societal needs. Students who are passing out of the professional institutes offering engineering architecture and management courses have the greater responsibility in creating knowledgeable, skillful, coherent and healthy society. He further said, any country’s performance is measured in terms of the ‘Happy Index”, that is the happiness of the society and that can be achieved only with the help of a good education system. The education system in India is marching towards creating a good education system with the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

Shri. Pradeep Sawkar, Chairman, Karnatak Law Society in his speech said that students need to contribute towards their alma mater and motherland through the application of knowledge and conscious actions for the benefit of the society. Education is the foundation for all positive change in the world; education is not just a basic human right but also the key to the development of the nation. It’s only through continuous learning that we can add to the vast knowledge of mankind and unlock the true potential of our minds.

We are dealing with a great deal of uncertainty, but no need to get disheartened. Because this is not a permanent situation, the pandemic is going to subside and the economy is will gradually but definitely rise up. In the mean time we can take this opportunity to better ourselves and be prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow. He extended his warmest congratulations to all the graduating students of KLS GIT.

Shri. Anant Mandgi, President of the ‘Graduation Day’ and President of Karnatak Law Society during his presidential remarks said that getting a degree should not be confined to getting a job but to achieve something by which people should remember forever like Sir. M. Visvesvaraya. He urged the students to help their alma mater by providing an opportunity to their juniors.

Shri. M. R. Kulkarni, Chairman. Governing Body, KLS GIT, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Jayant K. Kittur, Principal, KLS GIT read the report of the institute. On this occasion, all the members of the Academic Council, Governing Body, KLS members, students, parents and staff members were present.
