Special vaccination drive on Sept 17 – 3 lakh doses target in Belagavi

Basavaraj Bommai, Karnataka Chief Minister said the government will organize a special Covid-19 vaccination drive on September 17 across the state, with a target to administer 25 to 30 lakh doses that day.

Belagavi district has a target of 3 lakh doses.

10 lakh first doses are still pending in the Belagavi district and for this, even private hospitals will be roped in who will also give free vaccines on that day.

The required vaccines would be supplied by the health dept to the private hospitals on that day.

If data entry operators are provided the Private hospitals said they can give jabs in the range of 500-1500 on the day.

Speaking at the preparatory meet today, DC MG Hiremath said last time Belagavi had crossed the 1 lakh mark and this time they are geared up to reach 3 lakh doses on that day.

He directed the authorities to make all arrangements, including the formation of necessary teams, to achieve the target of three lakh vaccines this time.

In urban areas, the vaccine should be administered between 7am and 6pm. Similarly, arrangements should be made to start the vaccination program in rural areas.

Vaccines will be provided in all primary health centers, community health centers and all government hospitals. He also said that in every village and urban area of the district, people will be provided with vaccine centers at the ward level.

Get in touch with your councilor as in each ward there will be a camp in some wards there may be more than 3-4 camps.
