KSRP women to cycle from Belagavi to Bengaluru

The women from the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) will cycle a grueling 540 km route from Belagavi to Bengaluru to spread the message of women’s empowerment.

This year’s rally will start from Rani Chennamma Circle, Belagavi on December 5, led by Assistant Commandant Nisha James, 4th battalion, KSRP. Several IPS and IAS officers will also be participating in the cyclothon event.

ADGP Bhaskar Rao said, We want to show that our women personnel are equally capable and tough.

The Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), the fighting arm of the state police force, in collaboration with the “UMEED 1000” CSR initiative of RBL Bank and the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), is organizing a cycling expedition spread over the length of the state – from Belagavi to Bengaluru – in support of the cause of women’s empowerment & the well being of the girl child.

Spanning over 540 km, will have the cyclists will visit various government schools, colleges and NGOs on the way to highlight relevant government programmes relating to women’s empowerment and raise awareness regarding well being of the girl child.

Improved public transport and ease of movement is critical to women by overseeing the rollout of cycleways and rapid bus routes and reclaiming space once used by cars into pedestrianized plazas is the way forward to accommodate women in urban settings. These developments benefit not only women, but everyone. More people will start walking and cycling. Kids will be playing in parks. People will be utilizing shared public spaces in innovative and creative ways—dancing or playing our goals are to raise awareness BY CYCLING ABOUT BUILDING CITIES THAT Are WOMEN Friendly.

  1. Cycling expedition is for women empowerment . But I believe that today’s women are more powerful than men. They are ahead in every field which men are. I have two daughters who are my two eyes and they are equal to boys .For this we salute today’s women and respect them wholeheartedly. Hip hip hurray to KSRP women force for their expedition BGM-Bangalore.
