On the first day of the New Year in Belagavi, a commotion arose when a lifeless body was discovered in a nearby well close to the Tanaji Gilli corner railway gate in the central part of the city.

The deceased has been identified as Hanumant Shivappa Madeli (age 34) of Karoshi Chikodi and he had a knife wound on his neck.

According to the information received, the feet of the deceased were found floating in the well near the Brahmadev Mandir in Tanaji Galli. The nature of this floating body, whether it is a result of murder or suicide, remains uncertain, and efforts are currently underway to retrieve the body.
